About Our Dojo
Our Dojo (School) is steeped in tradition. We are Oklahoma's only Dojo that is solely dedicated to Isshinryu Karate, with a heavy focus on practical self-defense for modern day street situations.

We have a very large 4,300sqft modern training facility. We have two separate training rooms. The larger room has brand new EVA foam mats w/ 6 full size rings, mirrors, Makiwara, multiple standing heavy bags, BOB's, speed bag, fold out mats and locker room. The other side of the building has EVA foam floors w/ 2 full size sparring rings, mirrors and 3 hanging heavy bags and a BOB standing bag along with a weight bench.

Adult Classes
OUR ADULT CLASSES ARE BASED IN THE TRADITIONAL OKINAWAN ART OF SELF-DEFENSE KNOWN AS ISSHINRYU. WE TEACH IN THE TRADITIONAL MANNER WITH A FOCUS ON STREET SELF-DEFENSE FOR MODERN TIMES. WE DO NOT PROMISE A BLACK BELT IN ANY AMOUNT OF TIME. LIKE ALL PHYSICAL TRAINING , TO BUILD PROPER MUSCLE MEMORY AND DEVELOP GOOD REFLEXES, IT TAKES TIME AND REPETITION. ALL RANKS MUST BE EARNED, ESPECIALLY BLACK BELTS!

In our daily classes we work on self improvement through rigorous training. Over time you will learn not only self-defense and physical fitness, but your karate will begin to become part of you and will help improve your daily life. You will also learn all of the traditional Isshinryu katas and bunkai along with the traditional weapons . As a self-defense Dojo we focus heavily on realistic situations one may encounter in the street and use proven techniques as taught by Hanshi Sandubrae.
Women's Self-Defense Course

We offer a Complete Women's Self-Defense Course at our Dojo at least 3 times a year! The course is a comprehensive and covers a wide range of techniques, both standing and ground, to address the most common attacks a woman is likely to face in assault situations. This class is taught by Sensei Veronica Sandubrae with Master Aaron Sandubrae overseeing the class. To ensure you feel comfortable in a safe environment only women are allowed to attend the classes.

Children's Classes
OUR KID'S CLASSES ARE BASED IN THE TRADITIONAL OKINAWAN ART OF SELF-DEFENSE KNOWN AS ISSHINRYU. WE TEACH IN THE TRADITIONAL MANNER WITH A FOCUS ON SELF-DEFENSE FOR MODERN TIMES. MODERN DAY BULLIES ARE A REAL THREAT! OUR PHILOSOPHY IS TO AVOID VIOLENCE IF POSSIBLE, HOWEVER, WE TEACH CHILDREN TO BE ABLE TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST THAT THREAT IF THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE. ALL RANKS MUST BE EARNED, ESPECIALLY JR. BLACK BELTS!

They will also learn Respect, Discipline, Focus, Control, Honor and humility. As a self-defense Dojo we focus heavily on realistic situations kids may encounter in their daily lives, such as being Bullied. We use proven techniques as taught by Hanshi Sandubrae.

FREE UNIFORM!
Children have always faced the threat of being bullied. In recent times bullying has become more vicious and the frequency of these attacks has increased. We teach our students to avoid conflict and violence when ever possible, however, we also teach them not to be victims. If they are forced into a situation that is about to or has become violent, they learn the skills necessary to defend against that threat whether there is one bully or multiple attackers. We also teach them Self-Control!

At Our Dojo all ranks are earned! To ensure this we work hard every class and take our training very seriously. However, Karate is also Really Fun!
Over time that hard work begins to pay off and it becomes fun to work hard. So Karate is hard work and a Lot of Fun!!!
